Not hold any doctoral degree or be enrolled in one elsewhere.
Start the program in August 2026, September 2026, October 2026, January 2027, or May 2027.

Every School and Department at St Andrews accepts applicants. You can apply to fields such as Biology, Medicine, International Relations, Earth and Environmental Sciences, Mathematics, Psychology and Neuroscience, Computer Science, Physics and Astronomy, the Business School, and many others.

Step 1: Apply for a PhD Program: Submit your PhD application to the University of St Andrews.
Step 2: Access the Application Portal: You will receive login details for the My Application portal within a few working days.
Step 3: Submit Your Scholarship Form: In the portal, select Scholarships and Funding and choose University of St Andrews Postgraduate Research Scholarships. You will automatically enter the selection process for the AD Links Foundation Scholarship.
Step 4: Prepare for Scholar Requirements: Recipients must write an introductory biography, share yearly progress updates, and join donor events.
