Benefits of the University of Cambridge Gates Scholarship
All Gates Cambridge Scholars receive the following:
- Complete University Composition Fee
- Annual allowance for upkeep of living expenditures

- Maintenance Allowance
The maintenance allowance shall be:
- £22,050 a year for a 12-month course (based on the 2025–26 rate)
- Paid proportionally for shorter programmes

Eligible academics may be awarded:
- Up to £2,000 for academic development support for conferences and training courses.
- Dependent children are allowed up to £12,184 per year for one child and up to £17,375 per year for two or more children.
- Support for PhD scholars for fieldwork through continuing maintenance funds during approved fieldwork.
- Funding for appropriate study breaks for maternity or fatherhood.
- Emergency funding for unforeseen financial difficulties.
