Study In Sweden Without IELTS: SI Sweden Government Global Professional Scholarship 2025-26

The Sweden Government Scholarship for the academic year 2025/26 is now accepting applications. International students may apply for a range of master’s degree programs. Applications for the esteemed Swedish Institute (SI) Global Professional Scholarship 2025 will commence shortly.

This fully financed fellowship, administered by the Swedish Institute (SI), encompasses more than 700 master’s degrees. Master’s programs often last between one and two years. IELTS is not a compulsory prerequisite for the SI Global Scholarship; nonetheless, applicants must fulfill the entrance criteria established by the universities.

The Swedish Institute (SI) is a governmental organization dedicated to enhancing international relations and promoting collaboration between Sweden and the global community. Recognized for fostering educational opportunities and cultural exchanges, SI significantly contributes to enhancing Sweden’s international footprint.

The SI assists students, professionals, and aspiring leaders via scholarships, fellowships, and joint initiatives, providing access to educational resources, money, and networking opportunities. The Swedish Institute promotes sustainability, diversity, and cross-cultural understanding, enabling individuals to broaden their perspectives and contribute to global development.

The SI Sweden Government Global Professional Scholarship 2025/2026 (Fully Funded and Without IELTS) is available for Master’s level programs at the Swedish Institute.

Subjects Offered

Approximately 700 master’s programs conducted in English qualify for the SI Scholarship for Global Professionals, encompassing diverse disciplines such as humanities, agricultural sciences, medicine and public health, natural sciences, social sciences, and technology.

To create a compelling application, it is essential to illustrate how your selected education will enhance the sustainable development of your native country and region. In your scholarship application, you must explicitly articulate how your chosen programs correspond with the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

Advantages

  • The entire tuition fee is remitted directly to the Swedish university at the commencement of each semester.
  • Monthly stipend of SEK 12,000 for living expenses during the duration of the study session.
  • Coverage for medical conditions and injuries.
  • Single travel award of SEK 15,000 (*SEK 10,000 for academics from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova, and Ukraine). Not relevant for students currently residing in Sweden.
  • Membership in the SI Network for Future Global Professionals (NFGP) facilitates professional development and networking possibilities during academic pursuits.
  • Membership in the SI Alumni Network post-scholarship for ongoing networking and career advancement.

The scholarship does not provide:

  • Allocate supplementary financial resources for relatives.
  • Pay the application cost for University Admissions.
  • Endorse modifications to the conferred master’s program.
  • Permit extensions or modifications to the scholarship period.

Qualified Nationalities

Individuals from the specified countries are qualified to apply for the SI Scholarship for Global Professionals: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, Bolivia, Belarus, Brazil, Cambodia, Cameroon, Colombia, Ecuador, Egypt, Ethiopia, Gambia, Georgia, Ghana, Guatemala, Honduras, Indonesia, Jordan, Kenya, Liberia, Malawi, Moldova, Morocco, Myanmar (Burma), Nepal, Nigeria, Pakistan, Peru, Philippines, Rwanda, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Sudan, Tanzania, Tunisia, Uganda, Ukraine, Vietnam, Zambia, Zimbabwe.

Criteria for Eligibility

Citizenship:

  • Must be a citizen of an eligible nation (residency at the time of application is not needed)

Graduate Programs:

  • Applicants must enroll in an accredited master’s program (more than 750 English-taught programs are offered).

University Enrollment:

  • Must be obligated to pay tuition fees to Swedish institutions
  • Must have adhered to the University Admissions Procedure
  • Admission to a qualifying master’s program is required on the day of the admissions announcement.

Professional and Leadership Experience:

  • Proven job experience is mandatory (restrictions may be applicable to specific places)
  • Proven leadership experience from a current or former employer or involvement in civil society is important.

Application Process

Submit Applications for Master’s Programs (October 2024 – January 2025)

  • Identify and submit applications for qualifying master’s programs in Sweden using the University Admissions website. This constitutes the initial step!

Scholarship Details Disclosed (November 2024)

  • Remain vigilant! In November, the Swedish Institute will disseminate all pertinent facts and requisite paperwork for the SI Scholarship application on its official website.

Submit Scholarship Application (February 2025)

  • The application portal for the SI Scholarship commences in February. Ensure that you have assembled all requisite documentation in advance (see to the call letter for specifics). Ensure you adhere to this deadline!

University Admission Outcomes (March 2025)

  • In March, you will receive notification from University Admissions regarding your acceptance into the selected master’s program.

Scholarship Disclosure (April 2025)

The Swedish Institute will disclose the recipients of the SI Scholarship in April. Maintain a hopeful disposition!

University Enrollment

Admissions to Swedish universities and colleges are administered by the Swedish Council for Higher Education via its webpage, University Admissions. For inquiries regarding your university application, tuition costs, or admission, please reach out to University Admissions.

Eligibility criteria for the SI scholarship include:

be obligated to remit tuition costs to Swedish universities. Determine your liability for tuition expenses here.

Timely payment of the application fee for master’s programs has been completed. The payment is directed to University Admissions. Locate all the significant dates here.

be granted admission (or conditional admission) to one of the qualifying master’s programs on the date of the admissions announcements. A scholarship can only be granted for the master’s program to which you are admitted on 21 March 2024. Master’s programs in which you are designated as a reserve cannot be considered. No scholarships are offered for late admissions.
