Available Programs at GIST with Scholarships 

  • Master of Science (M.Sc.)
  • Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.)
  • Combined M.S.–Ph.D. programs
  • Language of Instruction: English

Eligibility Requirements

  • Candidates of all nationalities (excluding Korean citizens who possess dual nationality)
  • Must possess (or anticipate possessing) a final degree by the initial week of July 2025.
  • Also, candidates from countries where English is not the primary language must fulfill GIST’s English language criteria.

Requirements for the English Language 

You must provide one of the following official scores:

  • TOEFL iBT: 80 | TOEFL PBT: 550
  • IELTS: 6.5
  • TOEIC: 750
  • TEPS (Nuevo): 285

Conditional admission can be granted to applicants who submit a certificate indicating that English was the medium of instruction (EMI) at their previous school. Nevertheless, they must provide an official English score within 6 months after enrollment.

GIST Scholarship Benefits

Enrollment & Tuition 

  • Complete tuition exemption: ₩3,607,000 each semester
  • Single enrollment fee: ₩680,000

Monthly Monetary Assistance 

  • M.S. Candidates: ₩140,000
  • Ph.D. Candidates: ₩295,000
  • Meal stipend: ~₩100,000 (for 9+ credits in the previous semester)
  • International student grant: ₩120,000 (for GPA ≥ 3.0/4.5)

Research Support Position 

  • M.S.: ₩6,400,000 annually
  • Doctorate: ₩13,740,000 annually

4. Accommodation

  • Dormitory costs vary between ₩80,000 to ₩140,000 per month.
  • Apartments for married students offered from ₩125,000/month
  • Charges for utilities and deposits are applicable.

5. Wellness & Journey 

  • 60% of National Health Insurance coverage.
  • Yearly health examination offered
  • Round-trip airfare for incoming international students.
