The Mandela Rhodes Scholarship
The Mandela Rhodes Foundation, established in 2003 in collaboration with the Rhodes Trust, is one of Nelson Mandela’s three recognized legacy organizations.
We aim to develop outstanding leadership skills in Africa. We identify, finance, and enable young Africans who have ambitions to utilize their skills to contribute to their communities and our continent. Our approach involves offering a postgraduate fellowship to young leaders, enabling them to pursue their studies in South Africa and take part in a residential leadership development program.
The foundation of our curriculum is rooted in Nelson Mandela’s conviction that leadership commences with internal metamorphosis, and our fundamental values of reconciliation, education, entrepreneurship, and leadership. In the last two decades, the MRF has granted 673 Mandela Rhodes Scholarships to emerging leaders hailing from 36 African nations.
