The AISG PhD Fellowship Program 2025/2026 is a distinguished effort by AI Singapore (AISG) aimed at nurturing and supporting exceptional AI research talent undertaking PhDs at Autonomous Universities (AUs) in Singapore.

Academic Degree Level

The AI Singapore (AISG) PhD Fellowship 2025/2026 – Fully Funded is offered for Fellowship and PhD programs at the National University of Singapore, Nanyang Technological University Singapore, Singapore Management University, and Singapore University of Technology and Design.

AISG’s research concentrates on several essential AI subjects that correspond with Singapore’s aspiration to be a reliable, responsible, and innovative AI hub.

  • Reliable and Transparent AI: Developing AI systems that are clear, dependable, and conform to Singapore’s “trust” ethos.

Qualified Nationalities

  • This award is available to students of all nationalities.

Criteria for Eligibility

Applicants must either aspire to pursue a full-time PhD or be within the initial two years of their PhD studies at one of Singapore’s Autonomous Universities to qualify.

National University of Singapore (NUS), Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore Management University (SMU), and Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD).

New PhD candidates must submit their applications via the usual application process of the respective AU, after which the institutions will recommend qualified individuals to AISG. Current PhD candidates seeking information about the fellowship should reach out to their university’s graduate office for eligibility criteria.

  • Local (No Scholarship / Round 2 Scholarship) – April 1, 2025
  • Singapore Management University (SMU):
  • Application Period: August 1, 2024, to January 31, 2025
  • Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD):
  • Deadline for Applications: March 31, 2025

January 2026 Enrollment

  • Application Period: June 1, 2025, to July 31, 2025
  • National University of Singapore (NUS):
