Study In New Zealand: Massey Business School $2000 Scholarships 2025

The Massey Business School Promising Student Assistance Bursary 2025 is a project aimed at assisting students experiencing financial difficulties, enabling them to pursue their academic aspirations without financial impediments. Founded in 2016 and financed by the Massey Business School Development Fund, this bursary seeks to support students who may be in danger of discontinuing their studies due to financial difficulties.

The scholarship, available to both undergraduate and postgraduate students at Massey Business School, provides financial assistance of up to $2,000 to help mitigate economic burdens faced by students.

Massey University Overview

Massey University College of Manawatu was established as Massey University of Manawatu on 1 January 1964, under the Massey University of Manawatu Act 1963. The newly established university possessed complete autonomy and the authority to issue degrees as stipulated by the Act.

In 1966, the name was abbreviated to Massey University.

Dr. Alan Stewart, who was appointed Principal of the College in 1959, became the inaugural Vice-Chancellor of the university. Dr. Stewart guided Massey in its transformation from an agricultural college to a comprehensive university. He would preside over Massey until his retirement in 1983.

Shortly after Massey achieved university status in 1963, several faculty and students believed that new insignia should be chosen to reflect the broader scope of the school.

The Academic Board initiated the process and solicited submissions from staff and students for a new coat of arms design. A variety of concepts were submitted and assessed; however, due to the challenges in achieving consensus on the new design, a more formal method was adopted.

In October 1964, the University Council sent a request to the College of Arms, reaffirming the Professorial Board’s mandate from 1963.

Massey University of Manawatu admitted 1,877 students in its inaugural year – 959 internal and 918 extramural students. The university’s infrastructure and amenities expanded significantly during the subsequent decades to accommodate the rising student population. As of December 1992, the university’s total enrollment was 24,675 students. Among these, 9,088 were internal students and 15,687 were extramural students.
