2025 Scholarships for the Young Water Diplomats Program

The IHE Delft Water and Development Partnership Program (DUPC3) offers a finite number of scholarships for applicants from low- and middle-income countries as part of its Cross-regional learning for transformative water diplomacy (CroWD) initiative.

The scholarship encompasses tuition fees, roundtrip airfare to New Delhi and return from the nearest international airport in March 2025, roundtrip airfare to Amsterdam and return in June 2025, accommodation, visa application fees, local transportation, and DSA for both journeys for chosen participants. IHE does not reimburse insurance expenses for the duration of travel and accommodations in New Delhi and Delft.

The institute is providing Delft Blue partial scholarships* to skilled water experts aiming to enhance the water conditions in their nations and seeking to participate in an on-campus short course at IHE Delft.

MSP provides comprehensive scholarships for short courses at prestigious Dutch universities, specifically tailored for young professionals from the MENA region. The qualifying nations, especially those prioritizing water management, encompass:

• Libya
• Mauritania
• Morocco
• Oman
• Tunisia

Moreover, Syrians may apply for the scholarship if they reside and are employed in one of the aforementioned qualified countries.

Criteria for Eligibility

MSP provides three concise courses at IHE Delft that concentrate on water management and environmental evaluation:

1. Evaluation and Surveillance of Water Quality

Duration: February 3 – February 21

This course equips participants with the expertise to develop and implement a monitoring network for surface and groundwater bodies. It encompasses classroom, laboratory, and field-based education, highlighting the theory and methodology for establishing a monitoring network.

2. Remote Sensing in Agricultural Water Management

Dates: March 3 – March 14

Participants will acquire skills in utilizing remote sensing data to assess high-resolution agricultural water consumption and biomass output. The training encompasses methodologies for evaluating water productivity and irrigation efficacy.

3. Environmental and Social Impact Assessment at Project and Strategic Levels

Dates: June 23 – July 4

This course emphasizes the significance of Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) in directing sectoral and regional planning, enabling participants to comprehend the incorporation of systems thinking, cumulative impacts, and strategic decision-making in environmental impact assessment.

Application Procedure for the MSP

The application procedure for the MENA Scholarship Programme is uncomplicated yet necessitates meticulous preparation. The following are the essential steps to adhere to:

• Request a nomination from your workplace for the MSP scholarship.
• Submit an application for enrollment in the chosen short course. Upon obtaining confirmation of academic acceptance via email:
• Compile your MSP application, which must include an employer statement, a motivation letter, your passport, and a government statement if necessary.
