About the Scholarship

Texas Christian University (TCU) is offering a scholarship specifically designed for international students who are enrolling in a master’s program with the intent of pursuing a doctoral degree. This opportunity is available within its esteemed graduate schools, which include:

1. Graduate School of Integrative Science and Engineering: This program focuses on the interdisciplinary integration of engineering and the sciences, preparing students to tackle complex challenges in technology and innovation.

  • Students who have completed 16 years of education
  • Individuals who completed their degree within two years of obtaining their bachelor’s.
  • Students who excel academically (top 10% in both grades and national university rankings)
  • Candidates with a letter of recommendation from a university president
  • Persons not awarded additional scholarships
  • Students are interested in registering for both a master’s and a doctoral program at TCU.

Scholarship Benefits

  • Scholarship Amount: ¥1,000,000 annually (upon arrival in Japan)
  • Complete Tuition Waiver: Exemption from admission and tuition charges (note: application fee remains necessary)
  • Accommodation Coverage: First and monthly rent covered for TCU-assigned dormitory (you’re responsible for utilities, cleaning, and possible repair expenses).

This is a support system spanning multiple years, lasting as long as five years, encompassing your typical master’s and doctoral enrollment duration.

How to Submit an Application?

Begin by completing a Prior Consultation Form (Form B & D) to outline your planned area of study. TCU will assist in connecting you with a possible supervisor. You may only proceed with your scholarship application after receiving approval from your supervisor.
