Eligibility Requirements
The opportunity is available for skilled graduates from Italy and globally, with the requirements including:
- Academic Qualification: Possessing a Master’s degree (Laurea Magistrale/Specialistica), an older Italian Laurea (vecchio ordinamento), an applicable degree from an AFAM institution, or a corresponding foreign Master’s degree acknowledged as appropriate for PhD studies.
- Final Year Students: Individuals anticipating their Master’s degree completion by November 15, 2025, may apply conditionally.
- English Proficiency: You need to have a B2 level of English knowledge, according to the CEFR standard. You need to provide proof when you sign up, but you can turn it in until December 31, 2025, at the latest.

Scholarship Benefits
Obtaining a PhD position at Ca’ Foscari offers considerable benefits:
- Generous Scholarship: Successful applicants are granted an annual scholarship of €16,243 (gross amount, subject to social security deductions), disbursed in monthly payments. This scholarship is not subject to Italian income tax (IRPEF).
- Dedicated Research Funding: Every scholarship recipient receives an extra annual budget for research endeavours (both in Italy and overseas) amounting to at least 10% of the scholarship value.
- Improved Global Experience: The scholarship value may be raised by as much as 50% for research durations conducted overseas (the maximum period ranges from 12 to 18 months based on the program and particular agreements). A minimum period of research overseas is required for the majority of programs.
