For the academic year 2024–2025, the Department of Electrical and Information Engineering (DEIE) of Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), Indonesia, is offering a fantastic scholarship opportunity. Beginning in February 2025, this grant is available for both Master’s and Doctoral degrees.

About UGM, or Universitas Gadjah Mada:

The official founding of Universitas Gadjah Mada as a national university took place on December 19, 1949. Universitas Gadjah Mada, regarded as one of Indonesia’s oldest colleges, is a cornerstone of the country’s educational awakening and claims to be a propagandist and defender of Pancasila. At its founding, Universitas Gadjah Mada comprised just six faculties.

Under the name “Universitas Gadjah Mada,” this university was created by combining a number of previously established higher education institutions, such as the Gadjah Mada Higher Education Center, Yogyakarta’s Engineering College and Politics Academy, Solo’s Lawyers Education Center, and Klaten’s Pre-clinical Unit of Medical University. All of these institutions were approved by Government Regulation No. 23. Year 1949 regarding Regulations on Amalgamation of Higher Education Institutions into Universities.

Due to historical events in Indonesia on that day, the UGM anniversary was celebrated on December 19, 1949, even though the Government Regulation declared that the date of formation was December 16, 1949.

There are now 18 faculties, one postgraduate school (S-2 and S-3), and one vocational school at Universitas Gadjah Mada. Situated at the Bulaksumur Yogyakarta Campus, Universitas Gadjah Mada is among Indonesia’s oldest universities. Numerous departments and academic programs make up the majority of the faculties at Universitas Gadjah Mada. Education and Teaching, Research, and Community Service are the three pillars of Tri Dharma higher educational principles, which serve as an expression of Universitas Gadjah Mada’s academic activities.

Founded in 1949, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) is one of the oldest and most esteemed institutions in Indonesia, situated in Yogyakarta. Numerous undergraduate, graduate, and doctorate programs in engineering, the sciences, the arts, and the social sciences are available at UGM, a renowned university.

UGM, which is well-known for its dedication to community service, innovation, and research, is a major contributor to the advancement of Indonesian academic achievement. Situated in Yogyakarta, a cultural center renowned for its rich history, arts, and reasonably priced living, the university attracts both domestic and foreign students by fostering a vibrant mixed atmosphere.

  • Malaysians in Indonesia feel totally at home even though they are living overseas when there is no communication barrier.

Low-value money

  • The low exchange rate in Indonesia is one of the factors influencing Malaysian students’ decision to pursue their studies there. This is because the exchange rate has a big effect on the cost of living for Malaysians there.
  • Additionally, the cost of education drops if the price is converted to Malaysian Ringgit (MYR).
  • Due in part to this currency problem, many Malaysians enjoy shopping in Indonesia, especially on the beautiful island of Bandung.

Many beautiful places to visit

Indonesia is, in fact, a very well-liked vacation spot. If you are a student in Indonesia, you should visit every area of the country to enjoy the stunning landscapes and historic structures it has to offer.
