Research Area: 2nd Life Metal Components

This groundbreaking research initiative aims to develop innovative, non-destructive techniques for characterizing materials and parts that significantly lower energy usage (by as much as 90%) and enhance the functional value of recycled metal parts. Main objectives consist of:

  • Utilizing created data to strategize upcycling methods

Eligibility Requirements

Candidates must fulfill the subsequent requirements:

  • A strong to acceptable university degree in engineering disciplines, preferably in material characterization, mechanics, or simulation techniques.
  • Robust drive and flexibility in responding to evolving research obstacles.
  • Autonomous and innovative thinking, combined with a collaborative attitude.
  • Strong proficiency in material characterization, mechanics, or modeling/simulation methods.
  • Proficient communication abilities in German and English
  • Experience in programming (Python, VBA, or similar) and knowledge of CAD and FEM tools are beneficial.
