Upon successful completion of a study program in Québec, students may apply for a Certificat de sélection du Québec (CSQ) to reside and work in their field of study for an extended duration. Academic Level

Bachelor’s Degree Programs

The exemption scholarship is awarded depending on the merit of your academic performance. The quantity is contingent upon your assessment:

  • Level A: $6,870.30 for each session (equal to 15 credits full-time) or $13,740.60 annually.
  • Tier B: $3,274.20 per session or $6,548.40 annually.

Master’s Graduate Programs

A partial exemption applies to both research and non-research master’s programs:

  • Research Master’s: $5,050.00 per session or $15,150.00 annually.
  • Non-Research Master’s: $3,596.25 per session or $10,788.75 annually.

Doctoral Programs – PhD

PhD students are granted a full exemption from supplementary tuition fees typically imposed on overseas students, thereby aligning their fees with those of Quebec graduate students. The overall exemption amounts to $7,636.20 per session or $22,908.60 annually.

  • This grant is available to international students of all nations.

Criteria for Eligibility

Applicants must fulfill the following conditions to be eligible for this scholarship:

  • Admission Offer: You must possess an offer of admission to a study program at UdeM commencing in Fall 2020.
  • Full-Time Enrollment: Continuous full-time enrollment in your program is required, unless otherwise authorized.
  • Valid Study Permits: Confirm that you possess valid study authorizations (CAQ and study permit) for every session of your program.
  • The exemption scholarship is applicable to degree programs including Bachelor’s, Master’s, and PhD. It is unavailable for short programs, preparatory years, or independent studies.
  • No Additional Exemptions: You must not receive any other type of tuition fee exemption.

  • Initiate Admission Process: Commence by submitting an application for your selected academic program at UdeM. Ensure compliance with application deadlines and prerequisites.
  • Inquiry Regarding Your Admission Status: Upon submitting your application, track your status using UdeM’s Centre étudiant site.
