Overview of the Opportunity
You will become part of the highly driven research team led by Prof. Dr. David Benjamin Konrad, who has recently moved from LMU Munich to the University of Vienna. The doctoral research emphasizes:
- Creation and formulation of covalent chemical probes and pharmaceutical candidates
- Creation of reactive components (“warheads” or “chemotypes”)
- Modifications of scaffolds for studies on structure-activity relationships (SAR)
- Aiming antioxidant proteins to trigger ferroptosis in metastatic non-small cell lung carcinoma.
Bonus: Your adventure starts with a 3-month training period at LMU Munich prior to fully joining the lab in Vienna.

What You’ll Be Working With
- Fundamental Methods: Chemical synthesis in inert environments (Schlenk/glovebox), NMR, HRMS, HPLC, LC-MS, UV-vis spectroscopy, and reaction kinetics.
