International and domestic students can apply for the Griffith University Hopkins Center Scholarships for 2024–2025. The award enables enrollment in all PhD programs provided by Griffith University. The scholarship will end on November 29, 2024.

As a scholarship recipient, you will attend a prestigious university ranked in the top 2% worldwide, with campuses throughout Southeast Queensland. Concerning The Hopkins Centre:

The Hopkins Centre: Research for Rehabilitation and Resilience facilitates applied research within an interdisciplinary framework, uniting clinicians, citizens, researchers, academics, and industry to investigate issues pertinent to brain injury, spinal cord injury, chronic pain, and other enduring disabling conditions. The Hopkins Centre is a collaborative endeavor between the Menzies Health Institute Queensland, Griffith University, and the Division of Rehabilitation, Metro South Health.

The Centre is currently soliciting expressions of interest from applicants possessing qualifications pertinent to rehabilitation and disability, who wish to pursue a PhD.

Academic Level

The Griffith University Hopkins Centre Australia Scholarships for 2024-25 are offered for PhD studies at Griffith University.

The PhD grant is open to students wishing to initiate a project with The Hopkins Centre in 2025. The PhD project may concentrate on any facet of the extensive subjects associated with the study programs listed below:

  • Customization of care transitions and service delivery frameworks throughout the healthcare continuum
  • Person-centered care and integrated care relevant to a rehabilitation healthcare environment

  • Psychological strain and subsequent physical and mental health issues
    Sustainable employment and workplace assistance for societal participation

Facilitating Technologies and Contexts:

  • Favorable conditions for enhancement, accessibility, and community engagement
  • Collaborative design techniques to provide customized rehabilitative solutions
  • Secure, efficient, and attainable utilization of technology in rehabilitation
    Engagement with dignity within the community
  • Develop surroundings and technology that enhance human living and support utilization.
  • Creating novel information, methodologies, and supportive frameworks for the adoption of technology in rehabilitation.
  • Collaborative and inclusive methodologies in technology design that enhance long-term user competence and usability
  • Design and alteration of public spaces, neighborhoods, and residences to improve quality of life and autonomy
  • Enhance individuals’ ability to access and navigate their surroundings through superior urban design, mobility, and public transportation to foster engagement.

Benefits

  • The 2024 Griffith University Postgraduate Research Scholarship offers an annual stipend of $33,480 (indexed) for a duration of up to three years of full-time study. Refer to the GUPRS Conditions of Award for additional details.
  • An accomplished international applicant will get a Griffith University International Postgraduate Research Scholarship, which will pay tuition expenses for a duration of up to three years. Refer to the GUIPRS Conditions of Award for additional details.

Qualified Nationalities

Criteria for Eligibility

Griffith University is soliciting outstanding candidates for higher degree research scholarships in health sciences, social science, health services research, and health policy. Successful candidates will have a robust academic foundation and a fervent commitment to enhancing knowledge and practice in disability and rehabilitation services.

Essential Criteria:

  • Academic Distinction: A robust academic background in health sciences, social sciences, health services research, or health policy.
  • Research Focus: A proven interest in disability and rehabilitation services, with an aspiration to contribute to research in domains such as rehabilitation service delivery, sustainable employment post-injury, accessible inclusive technologies, and surroundings that promote independence.
  • Educational Qualifications: Attainment (or anticipated attainment) of a bachelor’s degree with first-class honors or a master’s degree (AQF Level 9) featuring a substantial research component equivalent to a bachelor’s honors degree. Candidates possessing a comparable degree of achievement as acknowledged by Griffith University may also be eligible for consideration.
  • Proficiency in the English Language (for overseas applicants):
  • IELTS (Academic): Minimum overall band score of 6.5, with no individual band score below 6.0
  • TOEFL in paper format: Minimum score of 575 with no score lower than 5.0 on the TWE Internet-based Test (iBT). Test of English as a Foreign Language: Minimum score of 79, with no sub-score below 19
