Stocks Accounts Controller at Totalenergies
Totalenergies Marketing Ghana is a part of the worldwide Totalenergies Group, which is one of the largest oil and gas companies with a wide range of services. In Ghana, the company has been a big part of the oil marketing business for over sixty years. It has a large retail network and does business in many different areas, including Petroleum Products, Lubricants, Aviation, Bitumen, and Solar.
What the job entails
- Keep in mind the company’s safety requirements for the position and behavior at all times, including following the 12 golden rules on safety. Report all near-misses and use the STOP card when you need to.
- Manages all Petroleum Taxes (Preparation of Petroleum Tax schedules and ensuring appropriate taxes are paid to the Government)
- Then, Put the prices of fuel products in SAP.
- Putting costs into SAP for importing bitumen products
- Preparing inventory count documents and entering counts into the system for materials gained or lost
- Also, Making a report on consignment stock – M+10
- Moreover, Change the way goods are sent out in SAP
- In SAP, you are in charge of the material master data for products, packaging materials, and service articles.
- Make sure that the material master files are ready and sent to Paris in time for the creation and change of material codes.
- Using supplier reconciliation reports to make sure that any outstanding items are thoroughly looked into and explained.
- Every month, old or slow-moving stock is evaluated.
- Help with the analysis of margins.
- Make sure that the best practices are used in the MM module (MM Key User).
- The MM module in SAP will be taught to all of the staff.
Positions in charge
- Charge of keeping an eye on the Stocks Officers.
- Supervises the monthly reconciliation of fuels, lubricants, and products that go with them.
- Review ALL monthly reconciliations to the general ledger and make sure any differences are well explained.
Context and environment
Ghana is a country where most people speak English, and it has more than sixty (60) active Oil Marketing Companies. Total Petroleum Ghana Limited is the biggest oil marketing company (OMC) in Ghana. It has two main competitors, Shell and Goil, and together they make up more than 20% of the market. At the moment, Ghana’s market is only partially regulated. The currency of the country is the Cedi, which sometimes shows signs of being unstable.
Accountabilities
- Change the Taxes and Levies file.
- To finish product movement reconciliation by M+4, with help from the Customer Service and Operations departments.
- To make sure that our suppliers don’t get paid too much or too little and that they get paid on time.
- SAP reconciles levies accounts to make sure that creditors’ accounts are up to date.
Candidate profile
Qualification
- A good degree from college or part-qualification from one of the professional accounting groups
- Very good skills with people, talking and thinking.
- Must be able to organize things well.
