African dancehall artiste, Shatta Wale and Beyoncé’s Already video clip since it official release has sparked lots of talks about in the country.
Following the release of the video, many people doubted that Beyoncé really came to Ghana or that Shatta Wale and the American star were really together in the video. They were of the view that the video was edited hence the two were never together. Joining in was Pope Skinny. He categorically stated that Beyoncé never travelled to Ghana to shoot the video.
Strongly opposing Pope Skinny and the others’ opinion, Ghanaian pastor, Dr. Sonnie Badu said that he finds it quite difficult to understand why Ghanaians always try to discredit someone’s work even when it deserves praises. The man of God further stated that even if Shatta Wale and Beyoncé’s video was photoshoped it does not concern anybod. He mentioned that Ghanaians should rather focus on praising and appreciating Shatta Wale’s efforts instead of criticizing him. Sonnie Badu added that the whole world is hailing shatta wale for his works and so should all Ghanaians. He asked why Ghanaian can simply not change that mindset that kills heros. The pastor quizzed if Beyoncé and Shatta Wale’s hug was also photoshoped. He emphasized on the fact that Ghanaian should learn to celebrate Shatta Wale’s success. He made a comparison between Ghana and Nigeria and asked, “If this thing happened in Nigeria, do you know how Nigerian’s will be celebrating this?”
