Members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) on Parliament’s Appointments Committee unanimously took a decision to reject the approval of some ministers-designate.
These nominees were Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, minister-designate for Information; Hawa Koomson, minister-designate for Fisheries and Aquaculture and Owusu Afriyie Akoto, minister-designate for Food and Agriculture.
Per the orders of Parliament, the work of the appointment Committee is to recommend to Parliament observation of the vetting. Parliament then had a sitting today March 4th 2021 to vote on this recommendation.
The shocking news is that, the nominee in mist of controversy, Hon. Hawa Koomson, Minister Designate for Fisheries, pulled the highest votes.
