About the Role

The Senior Software Engineer will play a key role in ensuring system reliability, performance, and scalability across the full software delivery lifecycle. The position blends software engineering, DevOps, and site reliability practices, with a strong emphasis on automation, cloud infrastructure, and incident management.

You will collaborate closely with development teams to embed reliability into applications from design through production, while also leading efforts to improve observability and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will be responsible for:

Building tools and scripts to automate routine tasks, deployments, and incident resolution.
Ensuring system uptime, scalability, and performance optimisation.
Designing and proposing technical solutions aligned with business goals and requirements.
Administering DevOps practices across the full software delivery lifecycle, from development to production.
Developing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, Argo CD, and Maven.
Leading critical production incidents, coordinating communication, and ensuring rapid resolution.
Working closely with developers to integrate reliability into the software development lifecycle.
Implementing observability solutions, including metrics, logs, and traces, and defining SLOs and error budgets.
Supporting AWS cloud environments and containerised platforms, often using Infrastructure as Code (IaC).

Required Skills and Experience

To be successful in this role, candidates should have:

6–8+ years of professional experience in software engineering or DevOps-related roles.
Strong hands-on experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, Argo CD, and Maven.
Proven experience supporting AWS cloud and container-based environments.
Solid understanding of DevOps and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles.
Experience with observability, monitoring, and incident management in production systems.
ITIL certification (required).
