Senior Planning Analyst At National Development Planning Commission

Applications are invited from interested and suitably qualified candidates for Cleaner At National Development Planning Commission.

JOB PURPOSE    To provide technical support for development policy, planning, coordination, M&E and research.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Conduct studies on relevant development issues
  2. Liaise with sector agencies and sub-national structures for effective collaboration.
  3. Provide inputs for preparation of work programmes and schedules in conformity with the objectives of the Divisions
  4. Provide technical analysis for the formulation of sectoral policies and plans
  5. Prepare quality policy papers to be presented in both national and international conferences
  6. Contribute to research on national development issues and maintains a repository of knowledge for purposes of learning and assisting other organizations as needed
  7. Conduct analysis on the implementation of development plans, policies and projects
  8. Support the preparation of Long-term and Medium-term Policy Frameworks, Planning Guidelines, Annual Progress Report and other key deliverables
  9. Maintain and update effective Management Information Systems
  10. Perform any other duties as may be assigned by Directors and Director-General

 

Qualification and Experience

  1. Must possess a minimum of a Master’s degree in Development Planning, Development Policy or relevant discipline of Economics, Social Sciences, M&E with strong analytical background
  2. Must have a minimum of six (6) years post qualification relevant working experience
  3. Knowledge of both national and international development issues and enhanced understanding of the National and sub-national Planning Processes including Monitoring and Evaluation
  4. Demonstrable evidence of experience and previous work involving strategic and/or development planning
  5. Demonstrable experience in research and policy analysis with relevant publications in high reputable journals
  6. Demonstrated capacity to generate and implement new ideas.
  7. Excellent skills on resource mobilization.
  8. Knowledge in the conduct of research, data analysis and interpretation
  9. Knowledge in ICT including Microsoft Office suite and statistical analysis softwares.

  1. PLANNING ANALYST II (2 POSITIONS)

JOB PURPOSE    To provide operational support for development policy, planning, coordination, M&E and research

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Assist in the conduct of studies on relevant development issues
  2. Play a support role in liaising with sector agencies and sub-national structures for effective collaboration
  3. Provide inputs for preparation of work programmes and schedules in conformity with the objectives of the Divisions
  4. Support technical analysis for the formulation of sectoral policies and plans
  5. Support the preparation of quality policy papers to be presented in both national and international conferences
  6. Contribute to research on national development issues and maintains a repository of knowledge for purposes of learning and assisting other organizations as needed
  7. Support in the conduct of analysis on the implementation of development plans, policies and projects
  8. Support in the preparation of Long-term and Medium-term Policy Frameworks, Planning Guidelines, Annual Progress Report and other key deliverables
  9. Assist in the development of plans and the monitoring & evaluation of policies, programmes and projects
  10. Participate in the review of goals and objectives related to their subject area and advice on modifications as may be required
  11. Organise workshops, take minutes and prepare draft reports
  12. Assist in the collection, collation and input of data in the relevant Management Information System
  13. Perform any other duties as may be assigned by Directors and Director-General

Qualification and Experience

  1. A minimum of a Master’s Degree in Development Planning with specialisation in M&E or Project Analysis & Management or related field from a recognised Tertiary institution
