Senior Electrical Engineer Job in USA 2026 ($110,000 to $140,000 Annually)

An industry-leading engineering and design-build organization is recruiting a Senior Electrical Engineer for a high-impact leadership role based in Akron, United States. This hybrid position (minimum three days on-site) offers an annual salary of $110,000–$140,000, comprehensive benefits, and H-1B visa sponsorship for qualified candidates who currently hold H-1B status.

This opportunity is tailored for experienced industrial electrical engineers ready to step into technical leadership, owning complex power systems that support large-scale manufacturing, chemical, and energy operations.

About Role

As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will take end-to-end ownership of industrial electrical projects—from concept and front-end design through execution and field validation. Reporting into a multidisciplinary engineering environment, you’ll lead calculations, guide designers, review deliverables, and engage directly with clients and operations teams.

Your work will focus on heavy industrial power systems rather than residential or retail projects. Expect hands-on involvement in load studies, protective relaying, arc flash analysis, hazardous area classification, and power equipment specification. You will also serve as project lead on single-discipline efforts, defining scope, estimating hours, coordinating teams, and maintaining client communication.

Field visits are part of the design process, allowing you to validate installations, troubleshoot real-world challenges, and ensure systems perform exactly as engineered. This is a role for professionals who want influence, visibility, and their name attached to mission-critical infrastructure.

  • Specify transformers, switchgear, MCCs, drives, and UPS systems
  • Develop control schematics, P&IDs, PFDs, and grounding designs
  • Guide designers and junior engineers, reviewing drawings and calculations
  • Act as project lead on electrical scopes, managing schedules and deliverables
  • Conduct site visits to support installation and commissioning
  • Maintain direct client communication throughout project lifecycles

Requirements

  • BS in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution
  • 12–30 years of industrial electrical engineering experience
  • Background in chemicals, petrochemicals, utilities, energy, or manufacturing
  • Strong knowledge of NEC (NFPA 70), NFPA 30, arc flash, and hazardous classifications
  • Experience with protective relaying and short-circuit studies
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD (3D preferred), Revit, and EasyPower or similar tools
  • Ability to develop and interpret P&IDs and detailed installation drawings
  • Field experience in operational environments
  • PE license preferred (or willingness to obtain with employer support)
  • Eligibility for H-1B transfer (if applicable)
