The Role
Meridia is now looking for a hands-on FIELD MAPPERS based in our Ghana office. The role is full time. Effectively we need you to collect accurate GPS boundary point mapping.
Activities
You will become an active part of the technical team to perform activities such as:
- Walking the farm boundary with the farmer and tag each boundary point
- Interview farmers with personal and farm-related questions
- Coordinate and manage the field work schedule
- Sensitize and educate the farmer communities on the project and the benefits
- Establishing trusted relationships with customers
- Reviewing mapping data and checking for quality assurance
- Providing feedback regarding the mapping forms to the office data team
- Cross-checking information with the office data team
- Communicating with the other field team members and the Area Manager
The ideal candidate has/is
- Minimum education: HND (specializations in Land Economy, Survey is especially welcome)
- Completed National Service
- Experience in field work and data collection
- Good technology skills
- Collaborative and solution oriented
- Independent, self-motivating and able to deliver results
- Strong with language, numerical input and maps
- Excellent professional English and local languages skills
- Ability to be focused and work diligently
- Able to self-motivate and structure work independently
- Willing to travel and live in remote areas
- Work as and when needed
- Ability to ride a motorcycle with a valid license (essential)
