About Role

As a Quality Assurance Engineer, you will be a key part of an agile product engineering team responsible for delivering high-quality features across web platforms and services. Your role will go beyond traditional testing; you will help shape testing strategy, embed quality into the development lifecycle, and build scalable automated testing solutions within CI/CD pipelines.

You will collaborate closely with developers and product managers from early design stages through to production deployment, ensuring that quality, reliability, and testability are built in from the start. The role combines hands-on automation engineering, exploratory testing, production monitoring, and continuous improvement of testing practices, including the use of modern and AI-assisted testing tools.

Responsibilities

Perform and document exploratory and context-driven testing across web and API platforms
Design, build, and maintain scalable automated test frameworks and test suites
Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to provide rapid quality feedback
Partner with developers and product owners to embed quality into planning and design
Guide testing strategy and improve quality practices across the team
Monitor production systems and help triage bugs and incidents
Investigate production issues, identify root causes, and feed learnings back into development
Support release processes and deployment activities
Share knowledge through mentoring, reviews, and contributions to testing standards
Continuously evaluate and adopt modern and AI-assisted testing tools and approaches

Requirements

3+ years of experience in quality engineering, test automation, or similar roles
Strong experience with test automation frameworks for web and API testing
Experience building and maintaining scalable, maintainable automation frameworks
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Jenkins
Experience testing across multiple layers, including UI, API, and data validation
Strong understanding of agile development environments
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills
Ability to adapt to new tools and technology stacks (Playwright, TypeScript, .NET experience is a plus)
Eligibility for New Zealand AEWV / Green List visa sponsorship for international applicants
