POSITION: Lab Technician
Position Summary
We seek a dependable and detail-focused Laboratory Technician to become part of our medical laboratory team. The candidate selected will conduct both standard and specialized laboratory tests to aid in diagnosing, treating, and preventing illnesses. The Lab Technician will guarantee precision, quality, and adherence to all health and safety standards.
Main Duties
Sample Management & Preparation
- Gather, tag, and arrange patient samples (blood, urine, stool, etc.) for examination.
- Guarantee suitable storage and transit of samples.
Testing and Examination
- Perform regular examinations in fields like hematology, chemistry, microbiology, serology, and urinalysis.
- Manage and adjust laboratory instruments, including analyzers, microscopes, and centrifuges.
- Accurately document and evaluate test outcomes.
Documentation and Reporting
- Keep precise logs, testing outcomes, and patient documentation utilizing laboratory information systems (LIS).
- Notify the appropriate healthcare providers immediately about any abnormal or critical findings.
Assurance of Quality & Safety
- Follow quality control procedures and engage in both internal and external quality evaluations.
- Adhere to correct protocols for disposal of specimens, management of chemicals, and infection prevention.
- Maintain adherence to regulatory requirements.
Maintenance of Equipment
- Carry out regular cleaning and upkeep of laboratory equipment.
- Resolve small equipment problems and escalate when necessary.
Required Skills or Experience
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or its equivalent.
- Certification from a reputable organization (e.g., ASCP, AMT, or local regulatory body) is preferred.
- 1–2 years of experience in a clinical or diagnostic laboratory is beneficial (recent graduates are welcome to apply).
- Acquaintance with safety protocols in the lab and quality assurance standards.

- Strong computer proficiency and understanding of laboratory information systems (LIS)
- Capacity to function autonomously and collaboratively within a team
