Project Accountant at AirtelTigo

The right person will become an Accountant for Projects in the Finance Department and join our team. (S) He will report to the Chief Finance Officer and be in charge of keeping an eye on how projects are going, looking into any discrepancies, approving outgoing payments that include expenses, and making sure that billings for projects are sent to clients and payments are collected.

Key Responsibilities

• Keeping full accounting records of the project so that at the end of the year, a financial statement can be made that has been checked.
• Keeping track of the project reports for the steering committee and making sure they are up to date.
• Keeping track of all the money coming in and going out for each project.
• Keeping track of all project costs and giving summaries and comments.
• Keeping project records and contracts in order to make sure the terms are followed.
• Reviewing the current ways of putting together management accounts and streamlining them across the business
• Putting the board’s or steering committee’s decisions into action.
• Keeping in touch with auditors.
• Making sure that the Joint Venture has good financial and management reporting.
• Business Working with managers who aren’t in charge of finances to develop processes and a better understanding of financial needs.
• Creating financial systems and making suggestions to the agreed-upon processes for the steering committee to think about and use.

Needed Skills and Past Experience

• Accountants who are qualified by CIMA, ACCA, or ACA
• Moderate Project Management skills
• Process mapping and putting it into action
• Someone who is self-motivated and needs little help
• Change management on a large scale
• Strong technical skills in accounting, especially Excel and systems.
