Candidates from the United States and all other nations are invited to apply for the World Bank Legal Internship Program 2023 by the World Bank Legal Vice Presidency. In the United States, the Legal Internship Program offers highly compensated internships.

The World Bank Legal Internship Program enables individuals to advance their legal expertise by bringing fresh viewpoints, creative ideas, and the most recent research experiences into the World Bank’s everyday operations. IELTS is optional.

The World Bank Legal Internship is aimed at law students. This is one of the best legal internships the nation has to offer. Internships are provided three times per year. Three months are allotted for the internship program.

The World Bank headquarters in Washington, D.C. will be the location of the legal internship program. This is a call for a fall internship in 2023, which will likely take place between September and November of that year. More information is provided below.

Internship Length

  • A 3-month fall internship (September, October, November). April 1 through April 30, fall cycle
  • Three-month summer internship (June, July, August). Summer Cycle: December 1 to December 30
  • A three-month spring internship (March, April, May). Spring Cycle: September 1–September 30

Can you work at the World Bank as a legal intern?

The following criteria must be met in order to be eligible for the World Bank Legal Internship Program:

  • Are you a citizen of one of the IBRD’s member states?
  • During your internship with us, are you enrolled in an LLB, JD, LLM, SJD, PhD, or comparable legal academic program?
  • We strongly urge both eligible international students and students studying in the United States to apply.

Essential Documents

Apply using the following paperwork:

  • Résumé
  • Interest/Motivation Statement
  • Academic records and a law degree as proof of enrolment in school(s).
  • A brief essay responding to a research subject set by the Legal Vice Presidency for the current application cycle.

Position of Intern

  • Researching issues, projects, and duties associated with the World Bank
  • Working on task or project teams with the overseeing attorney(s).
  • Assisting with conference and meeting planning and coordination.
  • Completing ad hoc tasks as directed by the overseeing attorney(s).

Deadline

The World Bank Legal Internship Program for Fall 2023 Internship has a 30th April 2023 deadline for applications.
