Police officer who failed to stop at barrier crashes car; 85 parcels of ‘Indian hemp’ found
A police officer with the formed Formed Police Unit in Tesano- Accra is under strict guard at the Peki Government Hospital. This occurred after he crashed his car in the Kpeve mountains in the Volta Region.
G/Sergeant Lotsu Agbeko a 36-year police officer, was said to be traveling to the Volta Region. He was in his private vehicle Toyota Corrolla when the incident occurred. Reports indicate that he failed to obey a signal to stop when he reached the Have police barrier.
His failure to obey the signal led to a hot chase by the police personnel who were at the post. Unlucky for Sergeant Lotsu, he got involved in an accident and injured his left hand. The left hand has been fractured. The officer was then sent to a health facility nearby for medical care.
In the course of an inspection, 84 parcels of substances suspected to be Indian hemp were found squeezed in the boot.
Reports indicate he is currently responding to treatment.
According to reports as of today, Tuesday, June 14, the police in Kpeve say the suspect has been under guard since the incident happened on Saturday, June 11 around 12:30 pm.
