The 46 year old Nigerian, Simon Okafor Chukudi who tested positive for coronavirus on Sunday 12th April 2020 and run into hiding upon hearing that he was positive to COVID-19 has been found today.
The patient disappeared from his residence at Wapaani, a suburb of the regional capital, Wa after hearing his test results of COVID-19. The police has since been searching everywhere for him until he was found this afternoon 17th April 2020.
The Said 46 year old Nigerian was found at his hide out around Wa polytechnic inside a compound house with some friends where he was hiding.
According to the Regional Police Commander DCOP Aboagye Nyarko, it was through an informat they intercepted him at his hide out and that he appeals to the general public to always assist the police with information.
Simon Okafor Chukudi and five of his relatives are now on mandatory quarantine at the Regional Hospital with other confirmed patients.
Mr Okafor was part of the six new cases the Upper West Region recorded on the 12th of April 2020 which pushed the total confirm cases to seven. Out of the six new cases, five were imported and the other one traveled from Western Region to Upper West. All six confirmed cases have been in the region for more than three weeks . The Ghana Health Service has since began contact tracing of the newly confirmed cases.
