Job Title: Program Officer

Purpose of the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and organized Program Officer to join our team. This role is central to supporting the planning, coordination, and successful implementation of our foundation’s programs and projects. You will ensure effective delivery in line with our strategic mission and quality standards. Reporting to and working closely with the Executive Director, you will help manage program execution, stakeholder engagement, and reporting.

Key Responsibilities

You will manage a diverse portfolio of program support duties. Your core responsibilities will include:

Program Planning & Implementation:

  • First, you will assist in designing, preparing, and implementing key projects, workshops, and community initiatives.
  • You will coordinate all program logistics, communications, and participant engagement to ensure smooth execution.
  • A primary duty involves supporting the development of concept notes, proposals, and detailed work plans for new initiatives.

Monitoring, Evaluation & Reporting:

  • You will track program activities and outcomes against set performance indicators.
  • Furthermore, you will collect, analyze, and document program data and compelling success stories.
  • You will also prepare regular progress and completion reports for both internal review and external donors.

Partnership & Stakeholder Engagement:

  • You will liaise with partners, community networks, and beneficiaries to strengthen collaboration.
  • Additionally, you will represent the foundation at relevant meetings, events, and community forums.
  • You will support efforts in partnership mapping and resource mobilization.

Administrative Support & Communication:

  • You will maintain accurate program files, documentation, and correspondence
  • You will assist with budget monitoring, procurement, and expense reporting for program activities.
  • Finally, you will contribute to content for newsletters, social media, and the documentation of best practices for organizational learning.

Required Skills & Experience

The ideal candidate will bring relevant education and hands-on project experience:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, Project Management, or a related field.
  • A minimum of two to three years of experience in program coordination, community development, or NGO project management.
  • Proven ability to coordinate multiple projects and collaborate effectively within teams.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and professional report-writing skills.
  • Proficiency in standard computer applications (MS Office, Google Workspace, data tools).
  • A genuine commitment to the foundation’s Christian values, vision, and faith-based principles.
