Plantations Socfinaf Ghana (PSG) Limited wishes to inform all qualified and interested candidates about a vacant position in its Finance Department: Junior Accounts Officer

Reports To: Accounts Manager Through Accounts Supervisor

JOB PURPOSE

Timely and accurate processing of accounting documents and ensuring accurate accounting records.

Preparation of various reports and analysis. Assist the Accounts Supervisor in the monthly closing process.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Depending on the specific accounting tasks that have been assigned to you by your immediate Supervisor and/or Head of Department and that may vary from time to time to ensure a certain flexibility within the Finance Department, the main accountabilities may include but are not limited to:

• Timely and accurate payment of supplier invoices.
• Timely and accurate entry of all transactions in the Accounting System.
• Preparation of reconciliations of supplier and customer accounts.
• Preparation of various analyses of supplier, customer and cost accounts.
• Preparation of cash flow statements and treasury reports.
• Preparation of invoices and debit notes to customers.
• Preparation of salaries and wages and all issues arising therefrom (Payroll Accountant).
• Maintaining accurate database of fixed assets.
• Ensure proper filing of all accounting documents.
• Ensure that the company’s Accounting Policies and Procedures are strictly adhered to.
• Compliance with the company’s Standard Operating Procedures.
• Compliance with Environmental, Health and Safety regulations.
• Assist in physical stock takings of stores and fixed assets.
• Assist in the preparation of the monthly trial balance, profit & loss statements, budgets as may be directed by your immediate Supervisor and/or the Head of Department.
  Required Skills or Experience

• Ability to interpret and analyze numbers.
• Ability to communicate in English.
• Ability to work with mathematical concepts manually and on the computer.

• Experience with Microsoft Excel and SunSystems is preferred.
• Minimum educational attainment of HIGHER NATIONAL DIPLOMA (HND) in Accounting.
• Applicants should have completed their National Service.
