POSITION: Data Analyst

Job Description

  • REPORT FOR: RESEARCH, MONITORING, AND EVALUATION Manager
  • Location: Head Office (ACCRA).
  • CONTRACT TERM: FROM NOW TO DECEMBER 31, 2026.

JOB PURPOSE

The data analyst will contribute to the project’s timely and successful monitoring efforts. S/he will manage the project master data set and evaluate data for project reporting as directed by the project director and required by donors.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Data Cleaning and Preparation: This includes filtering the data, dealing with missing values, and preparing the dataset for analysis to ensure correctness and relevance.
  • Data Exploration and Analysis: Analysts employ statistical tools and techniques to investigate and analyze data, looking for patterns, correlations, and trends.
  • Data Visualization: construct visual representations of data results using charts, graphs, and dashboards to make the data more intelligible.
  • Reporting: Data analysts create reports and presentations to share insights and conclusions from the data with stakeholders, which can impact policy and decision-making.
  • Collaboration entails working with other departments to better understand their data requirements and assisting them in making data-driven decisions.
  • Manage the project database to guarantee that data is correct, consistent, and reliable throughout its lifecycle. This is crucial for making valid and trustworthy judgments.
  • Aggregate, clean, process, and analyze data collected in the field (at all project implementation sites) on time to provide inputs for project performance indicators and information requirements.
  • Run periodical reports to ensure data quality and discuss results to the supervisor.
  • Train and help field staff with data collecting.
  • Conduct data quality evaluations, cleansing, and preliminary analysis. Share and share findings to assist in identifying insights that will inform the project’s implementation plan.
  • Help in the creation and implementation of qualitative and quantitative approaches in organization-led research.
  • Analyzing acquired data and presenting it in a format that others can easily perceive
  • Create and manage processes for producing accurate and timely reports that assist the company and stakeholders in understanding and acting on significant data insights.
  • Engage with managers from different departments to identify data requirements for analytical projects relevant to their specific procedures.
  • Detect, investigate, and decode trends or patterns within complex datasets.
  • Create data dashboards, charts, and visual aids to help decision-making across departments.

Required Skill or Experience

  • A first degree in mathematics, computer science, economics, or statistics, with at least four (4) years of post-qualification experience. A professional certification certificate would be advantageous.
  • Practical familiarity with statistical tools (e.g., Excel, SPSS, SAS) and knowledge of data analysis languages such as SQL, Python, and R.
  • Proficient in quantitative methodologies and database management.
  • Proficiency in written and oral communication, as well as the ability to interact and communicate with colleagues.
  • Ability to show facts in basic, straightforward graphs and tables.
  • Skills in time management and the capacity to work autonomously
  • Capable of critically analyzing data to generate relevant, actionable insights.
  • Demonstrate exceptional communication and presentation skills, including the ability to clarify complicated data insights for audiences without a technical background.
  • Ability to operate under pressure and fulfill strict deadlines.
  • A thorough awareness of the industry (NGO space, particularly in the field of health)
