Philippines Expands Visa-Free Access to Additional Countries Starting June 8, 2025
Exciting news awaits Indian travelers! The Philippines has just announced an expanded visa-free policy, welcoming Indian tourists with open arms. This transformative update, shared by the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), aims to significantly boost tourism from India, one of Asia’s fastest-growing travel markets.
What’s New? Visa-Free Entry for Indian Nationals!
Beginning June 8, 2025, Indian nationals can enjoy visa-free access to the Philippines through two streamlined options, each with specific requirements.
Option 1: 14-Day Visa-Free Entry for Tourism
Indian citizens can now enter the Philippines without a visa for up to 14 days. This option is non-extendable and non-convertible. To qualify, travelers must meet these criteria:
- Valid Passport: Must be valid for at least six months beyond the intended stay.
- Accommodation: Provide confirmed hotel accommodation or booking.
- Financial Proof: Show evidence of sufficient funds for the trip.
- Return Ticket: Present a return or onward ticket to the next destination.
This visa-free access applies to all Indian passport holders, regardless of their visa status in other countries.
Option 2: 30-Day Visa-Free Entry with AJACSSUK Visa/Residence Permits
Indian travelers holding valid visas or residence permits for certain countries can stay in the Philippines for up to 30 days without a visa. Eligible countries include the United States, Japan, Australia, Canada, Singapore, the United Kingdom, and the Schengen Area.
Required Documents:
- Valid Passport: Must be valid for at least six months beyond the intended stay.
- AJACSSUK Visa/Residence Permit: Must present a valid visa or residence permit from one of the eligible countries.
- Return Ticket: Provide a return or onward ticket to another destination.
Important Entry Notes Effective June 2025
This visa-free entry is strictly for tourism purposes and cannot be extended or converted into other visa types or long-term statuses. Entry is permitted through any Philippine port. Additionally, Indian nationals must not have any derogatory records with the Bureau of Immigration (BI).
For long-term stays or non-tourism activities, such as study or work, a visa is required from a Philippine embassy or consulate. Indian citizens eligible for e-Visas can apply through the official website at evisa.gov.ph. Note that e-Visas are also non-convertible and non-extendable.

With this new visa-free access, Indian travelers can explore the stunning beaches of Boracay, the breathtaking coral reefs of Palawan, the volcanic landscapes of Bicol, and the vibrant street food scene in Manila—all without needing a visa!
