Oman Launches E-Visa Applications for 2025: Latest Updates & Requirements

The Sultanate of Oman has officially introduced its E-Visa Program for 2025. This new system simplifies the process for global travelers to explore this stunning destination. Now, tourists can apply for their visas entirely online, avoiding long queues and complex paperwork.

What’s New in the 2025 E-Visa Program?

1. A-E Visa

The E-Visa System features a modern, web-based platform. Travelers can easily apply, pay, and receive their visa approvals online. Whether you plan a short vacation or an extended stay, the entire process is just a few clicks away.

2. Tourist Visa (Unsponsored Visa)

Eligible tourists can now apply for unsponsored visas directly online. This allows visitors to explore Oman for specific periods without needing a local sponsor. Applications must be submitted through the Royal Oman Police (ROP) E-Visa portal: ROP E-Visa Portal.

3. Visa Facilitation for 103 Countries

Oman has simplified visa procedures for travelers from 103 countries. This change aims to attract more visitors and make entry easier. Tourists from these nations can enjoy faster processing times and smoother entry into Oman.

New Immigration Policy Changes in Oman for 2025

Oman has also implemented significant changes to its work visa and immigration policies. These changes focus on promoting local employment and regulating the expatriate workforce.

Work Visa Suspension

Starting September 2024, Oman will temporarily suspend work visas for specific private-sector jobs. This suspension will last six months and affects roles such as construction workers, tailors, chefs, and barbers.

New Labor Law

Oman’s new labor law introduces several important changes. Work hours will be reduced to 40 hours per week. Additionally, employees will enjoy extended leave entitlements and mandatory contract terms. The law also recognizes remote work.

Omanization

Foreign-owned companies must now employ at least one Omani national within a year of operation. This policy aims to promote local employment and integrate Omanis into the workforce.

Health Insurance

Starting in 2025, employers must provide health insurance for all expatriates. This requirement ensures better health coverage for foreign workers living in Oman.

Wage Protection

The new wage protection system mandates that employers transfer wages within three days after the salary period. This change aims to enhance financial security for workers.
