POSITION: Partnership Lead
Job Description.
The Innovation Lead will lead Old Mutual Ghana’s innovative transformation by identifying and implementing the necessary improvements to the processes, capabilities, and culture to ensure its success. The ideal applicant will work with the Partnership & Innovation executive to develop and implement appealing strategies for Old Mutual Ghana.
Strategy Implementation
- Collaborate with the Innovation team to find and validate internal and external market possibilities in the tech ecosystem for innovation, partnerships, and co-creation aligned with company strategic goals.
- Investigate and prioritize critical strategic areas. Supports the implementation of corporate strategies.
Venture Development and Scaling
- In conjunction with the Innovation Advisory Board, lead the discovery and validation of opportunities and white spaces.
- Lead the new venture’s development through a staged process that includes ideation, proof of concept, Minimum Viable Propositions, piloting, and consumer testing.
- Create convincing business cases for validated ideas/concepts to secure more investment for scaling.
- Manage a portfolio of ideas and concepts at various stages of the innovation process.
Partnerships Management & Commercialization
- Develop and manage strategic partnerships with ecosystem partners.
- Own and lead the end-to-end commercialization of important partnership income lines resulting from joint venture agreements and revenue share models entered into by the new ventures.
- Establish strategic partnerships with key partners across industry verticals, such as banks, insurance companies, and investment firms, to drive growth, stimulate innovation, and boost the company’s competitive position.
- Develop partnership concepts, use case definitions, and solution designs for new businesses.
- Maintain partnerships with fintech, VCs, accelerators, incubators, and corporate accelerator programs.
Key outputs
- Defined Innovation and new enterprises strategy, in line with national strategy.
- Delivery of performance measures set and agreed upon with the Head of Partnerships
- Successful blueprint delivery and oversight.
- Key results, triumphs, and failures are shared with management.
- Ensures budgetary approval.
- Effective business arguments for successful concepts
Minimum Qualifications and Experience (Required for the Job)
- 3–5 years of experience in information technology, business, marketing, or finance-related sectors. Experience running a start-up, corporate initiative, or accelerator program.
- Adaptive thinking and a robust, critical mindset.
- Excellent commercial acumen and presenting abilities.
- Proficient in agile project planning, budgeting, and oversight.
- A thorough understanding of innovation, the innovation process, and how to use it in business.
- Outstanding interpersonal, leadership, and communication abilities.
