Job Description
Use engineering fundamentals to discover, propose, analyze, and build cost-effective maintenance systems that drive growth, decrease costs, enhance quality, and keep the plant at the top of manufacturing sites/competitors.
- Lead and coordinate the Factory Maintenance team while maintaining competencies, motivation, and performance to help the team achieve its goals and objectives.
- Asset Planning – Manage the factory’s engineering data in relation to the formation of the Business Strategy and the correct judgments about the factory assets.
- Project management entails keeping track of the factory’s capital investments. Ensure that the justification, request for approval, and reporting are in accordance with the
- Capital Investment Guidelines.
- E&A – Ensure that the electrical services, automation level, and EMS are in accordance with the business needs.
- Propose and track key performance indicators for Factory Engineering.
- Drive factory innovation and remodeling.
- Ensure that projects are constructed with a high degree of flexibility to allow operations to better adapt to a changing environment while keeping safety and the environment in mind.
- Ensure that engineering works as part of a multi-functional team that communicates clearly and openly.
- Maintain and develop engineering knowledge (Maintenance, Utilities, and Engineering Store) through training and development initiatives.
- Ensure that maintenance efforts are always directed toward a “low-cost, highly efficient” operation.
- Make continual improvement, networking, and knowledge sharing a major component of the engineering culture.
Important Deliverables
- Strategic Efficiency
- Extensive knowledge of food engineering basics and applications, statistics, experiment design, problem-solving strategies, and engineering economics
- Expertise in food processing plants and technology.
- Technologies for maintenance.
- Utility operations.
- Food safety knowledge, regulatory standards for food safety, and hygienic engineering.
- Planning and organization in SAP.
- Analytical problem-solving abilities.
- Communication and collaboration.
- Financial analysis and relevant business drivers should be understood.
- Plant Design and Construction Project Engineering/Management
Operational Effectiveness
- In charge of the effective and timely maintenance and repair of plant machinery.
- Ensure that the energy and environmental reporting system is driven by engineering.
- Ensures that staff follow sanitary and safety regulations.
- Ensure that all employees under his supervision follow manufacturing rules and regulations.
- Manages spare master data and makes modifications and updates as needed
- Maintains strong control over absences, tardiness, overtime discipline, and so on.
- Completes whatever task entrusted to him and accepts full responsibility for his actions.
Organizational Efficiency Requirements
- Engineering degree, ideally mechanical/electrical/chemical/process engineering.
- Minimum of 8 – 10 years of experience in a technical field, preferably in the food production or consumer goods industries, with maintenance duties.
- Fluency in both oral and written English is required.
- Technical and managerial abilities that are second to none.
- Experience is assumed to have resulted in a proven track record of achievement.
