Key Responsibilities
- Ensures the highest clinical standards are met in the provision of obstetrics and gynaecological services
- Facilitates the development and update of clinical protocols and guidelines for effective management of patients in the specialty
- Contributes to quality improvement initiatives and strategies to enhance patient care and safey
- Teaches, trains and mentors younger medical and nursing personnel and ensures a progressive academic environment
- Performs operational research to contribute to evidence-based practice in the department
- Provides leadership and administrative oversight of the O&G department
Qualification Required & Experience
The suitable candidate must possess the following:
- Minimum of Bachelors degree and specialised training in Obstetrics & Gynecology
- Must be in good standing with the Medical and Dental Council
- Must be a fellow of the Ghana/West Africa college of surgeons or its equivalent in obstetrics and gynaecology subspecialty with external collaborations with
- colleagues in the related field outside Ghana is an added advantage
- Additional qualification in health administration or clinical leadership is an advantage
- Must possess considerable strategic, interpersonal and analytical skills with a deep understanding and appreciation of the operational challenges in the health sector
- Must be less than 55 years by June 2020
