OBSTETRICIAN GYNAECOLOGIST
Key Responsibilities
Provides medical council, support and management of women during pregnancy and childbirth
Facilitates the development and update of clinical protocols and guidelines for the effective management of patients in the specialty Contributes to quality improvement initiatives
and strategies to enhance patient care and safety
Teaches, trains and mentors younger medical and nursing personnel and ensures a progressive academic environment Contributes to evidence-based practice in the department
Qualification
The suitable candidate must possess the following: Minimum of MBchB/MBBS/MD degree and specialised training in Obstetrics & Gynaecology Must be in good standing with the Medical and Dental Council
Must be a Fellow of the Ghana/West African College of Surgeons or its equivalent in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. Subspecialty with external collaborations with colleagues in the related field outside Ghana is an added advantage
Additional qualification in health administration or clinical leadership is an advantage
Must possess considerable strategic, interpersonal and analytical skills with a deep understanding and appreciation of the operational challenges in the health sector
Must be performance-driven and keen to achieve results
Must be an innovator and a good team player
