The NPU President Scholarship is conferred at three tiers:
- First-Level Scholarship: Includes total tuition costs, housing, and a monthly allowance.
- Undergraduate: 1,500 RMB monthly for a year
- Masters: 2,000 RMB per month for a year
- PhD: 3,500 yuan each month
- Second-Level Scholarship: Pays for all tuition costs.
- Third-Level Scholarship: Provides coverage for half of the tuition fees.
Eligibility Requirements
For eligibility for the NPU President Scholarship, applicants need to fulfill the following criteria:
- Health Criteria: Should be in sound physical and mental health, free from infectious diseases or ailments that could hinder studies.
- Educational History: Undergraduate candidates must possess a high school diploma and be younger than 25 years old as of September 1, 2025. Applicants for the master’s program need to hold a bachelor’s degree and be younger than 30 years as of September 1, 2025. PhD candidates are required to possess a master’s degree and be younger than 35 as of September 1, 2025.
- Academic Achievement: An average score of at least 75% or higher in prior coursework. NPU additionally considers scores from SAT, ACT, A-Level, AP, IB, IGCSE, WAEC, GED, GRE, and GMAT.
- Language Skills: Must fulfill NPU’s requirements for proficiency in Chinese or English.
- Nationality Requirement: Available to non-Chinese nationals possessing valid passports. Candidates who formerly had Chinese nationality are required to provide extra documentation.

The NPU President Scholarship is available for all fields of study at Northwestern Polytechnical University for international students.
How to Apply
Application Timelines
For undergraduate candidates, the second round of applications will be available from February 16, 2025, to March 15, 2025. It is important to mention that the deadline for applications to the Computer Science program will be March 15, 2025. For postgraduate applicants, the third round of applications is now open from February 1, 2025, until February 28, 2025.
