POSITION: Geological TechnicianÂ

About This PositionÂ
- This position will support the Mine Geologist in the daily oversight of the drilled core from underground drilling at Subika until it is delivered to the assay laboratory.
- The position has a wide range of responsibilities divided into the main areas of core shed and underground tasks.
- The Geological Technician will take on each of these roles in rotation to help guarantee that all core processing KPIs are achieved.
In this position, you will
Core StructureÂ
- Make sure that the drill core is brought to the core shed each day and on time from underground for processing. Verify core blocks to confirm the correctness of hole IDs, core-tray labels, and the core depth specified by the drillers.
- Prepare the drill core for logging by applying meter markings and identifying areas of core loss. Make sure sample tags are ready once the geologist has recorded and established the sample breaks.
- Conduct core sampling according to the cut sheet created by the geologist, ensuring samples are placed in the correct bags with labels, and include the suggested QAQC materials for assaying.
- Make sure that essential photos are accurately captured, titled in accordance with the correct naming protocol, and safely stored in the designated location on the server.
- Ensure the stock levels of drilling and sampling supplies (e.g. Core trays, core blocks, sample bags, markers, and CRM.
- Coordinate with the assay laboratory to make sure that pulp samples are routinely sent from the lab for storage.
- Collaborate with drilling geologists to assess and revise core processing methods.
- Consistently input daily drill plod information into the drill spreadsheet and perform other pertinent general tasks assigned by geologists.
SubterraneanÂ
- Make sure the area to be mapped is cleaned, verify scaling if necessary, and carry out scan/photo mapping underground.
- Conduct SLS grab sampling underground following the SOP and ensure that samples are quickly processed, including necessary QAQC materials, then send them to the laboratory for analysis.
- Conduct stockpile and heading inspections along with other related general tasks assigned by geologists.

Your Checklist for Training, Skills, and Experience
- Formal Credentials (including Professional Licenses):
- A minimum requirement of an SHS Certificate.
KnowledgeÂ
- At least 3 years of experience in core shed and core processing is required, with prior underground experience being advantageous.
- At least 5 years of driving experience in a mining setting.
