About the Fellowship
Fellows work in Mayoral offices and City agencies. They assist with real public policy work. Fellows also join a seminar series on current urban issues. Senior City officials and alumni speak at these sessions about their leadership experience. Selection involves an extensive interview process. The program calls itself the premier training program in government. Its alumni hold leadership roles in government, business, and non-profits.

The program does not provide student loans, financial aid, or scholarships. It also does not cover housing.
Who Can Apply
Applicants must meet these requirements:
- Receive a bachelor’s degree between Spring 2025 and Spring 2027
- Commit full-time to the nine-month fellowship
- Master’s degree timing does not matter. Those who received degrees before January 2025 or in Summer 2027 are not eligible.

- An unofficial transcript
- A one-page resume
- A personal statement of up to 750 words
- A policy recommendation essay of up to 1,000 words
- Three references, including at least one supervisor
