Therefore, this article is here to persuade you that New Zealand might just be the place for you if you’re thinking about moving there or if you don’t know where to relocate to and you’re still trying to decide.

New Zealand is a fantastic and beautiful country that offers you a lot of options. You are free to relocate with your family. We’ll talk about some fantastic visual opportunities, immigration to New Zealand, and residency.

How Can One Move to New Zealand?

Recovery Luca Visa

Less than 5 million people live in New Zealand. Employers may sponsor professionals such as technicians, engineers, and insurance assessors to go to New Zealand using the Recovery Visa (a Specific Purpose Work Visa).

Numerous towns and enterprises in the North Island have been destroyed by Cyclone Gabrielle and other severe weather disasters. For migrant workers who assist with recovery, there is the Recovery Visa (also known as a Specific Purpose Work Visa). Applicants for the visa for specific purpose work may do so right now.

About This Visa

The visa is intended for foreign employees traveling to New Zealand for a brief period (up to six months) to perform work that aids with the North Island’s recovery from the catastrophic weather events that occurred in January and February of 2023. This assistance may consist of:

  • First and foremost, delivering emergency assistance
  • Additional tasks include immediate cleanup, assessing risk or loss, stabilizing and/or repairing infrastructure, buildings, and housing, as well as tasks that directly aid in the recovery.

Employers must complete a Recovery Visa Employer Supplementary Form (INZ 1377) to certify that the position supports the North Island’s recovery from extreme weather occurrences. The filled-out form must be submitted with the application by the immigrant.

Additional Information

This visa remains unavailable to firms that provide indirect support (such as those in affected areas that are experiencing an increase in demand for services) or to fill positions left open by employees who left their jobs to work on the recovery.

Through other visas, such as the Accredited Employer Work Visa (AEWV), these firms will have access to labor. To assist in quicker processing for roles that have been recognized as supporting the recovery and rebuild, changes to the AEWV are being examined. The labor market test won’t apply to these jobs.

Recognizing that some essential industries will be headquartered on the South Island, the Recovery Visa is not solely applicable to jobs in the North Island. Accreditation for employers is not required.

How to Apply

  • First and foremost, the employer locates migrant employees. Thus, migrant workers are qualified to aid in the recovery.
  • Next, the employer fills out the Employer Supplementary Form.
  • The employer further supplies migrants with the Recovery Visa – Employer Supplementary Form (INZ 1377) by downloading and filling it out.
  • Also, the migrant submits a visa application
  • Finally, the migrant worker submits a form for a visa for specific purposes of employment.

Visa Processing

Within a week or less, Immigration New Zealand evaluates the application and notifies the applicant of the outcome. The visa costs $750 New Zealand dollars.

Accredited Employer Work Visa

If you have a job offer from an authorized employer, the necessary skills and qualifications, and a link to the visa application form, you should apply for this temporary visa.

  • Duration: up to three years
  • Cost: NZD 700
  • Processed in under 48 hours

This visa allows you to;

  • Work in New Zealand for a recognized company that has given you a job offer for at least 30 hours per week.
  • In any 12 months, you may spend up to three months studying, or you may complete any coursework required by your job.
  • Obtain a Straight Residence Visa, Work to Residence Visa, Care Workforce, or Transport Work Residence Visa if you are qualified.
  • Use your qualified work experience in New Zealand to earn points toward a skilled immigrant category resident visa if you qualify.

Things to consider

  • If you receive equal or more than the New Zealand median hourly pay of NZD 29.66, your visa remains valid for up to 3 years.
  • For the duration of your visa, this visa binds you to the employer who sponsored your application; if your circumstances change, you will need to adjust the terms of your visa or submit an application for a new visa.
  • You might be able to provide your partner with a work visa and your dependant children with visiting or student visas. You must make at least NZD 43,322.76 annually to sustain your dependant child’s tourist or student visa.

Relocating as a Student

This seems to be the most secure path. In total, New Zealand has roughly 16 institutions, including 8 universities. These eight universities and sixteen institutes are open for exploration. Determine which you can afford. For students who cannot afford it, there are other scholarship opportunities. We advise you to look into one of these education options and choose a course of study or line of work that is in demand in New Zealand.

With this, you can quickly obtain a place to live after finishing your education. There are many options for different study time frames, whether you are taking additional courses or a Ph.D. This is one of them. You can move with your family, for instance, if you are traveling to New Zealand for a Ph.D.
