POSITION: Graphic Designer and Creative Assistant

Job Description

Hey Girl Wellness is expanding, and we invite a Graphic Designer and Creative Assistant to grow alongside our brand. We are a women-led digital wellness and sports platform dedicated to sharing bold, authentic stories for African women. Our content explores the vital intersection of fitness, beauty, sport, culture, and mental health, always rooted in movement, meaning, and community.

This position offers a unique opportunity for hands-on experience and creative freedom. We provide direct mentorship, significant visibility, and the chance to help shape a rising brand from its core. This role is ideally suited for a student, recent graduate, or early career creative eager to build a compelling portfolio with published, real world work.

Your Creative Role and Responsibilities

You will become the visual voice of our platform, translating stories into engaging designs.

Create compelling social media graphics for Instagram, newsletters, and our website.
Design simple yet powerful layouts for feature articles, announcements, and digital content.
Execute content ideas visually, aligning closely with our established brand direction.
Help transform editorial stories into scroll-stopping visual assets.
Support all design-related needs, ensuring a rapid and diverse learning experience.

Ideal Candidate Profile

We prioritize passion, reliability, and a keen visual eye over formal experience.
You are currently a student or an emerging designer building your professional foundation.
You possess working knowledge of Canva, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, or similar design tools.
You have a good aesthetic sense and remain open to constructive feedback and collaboration.
You are organized, genuinely curious, and unafraid to experiment with new creative ideas.
You possess a sincere interest in women’s stories, culture, wellness, or sports.
