Job Purpose
Monitors and schedules the movement of materials, components, and inventory through assigned projects. Plan the purchase of allocated parts, components, or materials to meet project deadlines.
Job Description
- Works under regular or semiregular direct supervision.
- Works on more mature, less complex, and repetitious products that require less new engineering and design, and/or have a smaller overall scope.
- Conducts smaller-scope inventory evaluations and can make smaller/simpler judgments based on the results.
- Interacts with the Materials department, project teams, and Engineering regularly when making judgment calls or resolving challenges that require innovative solutions.
Main Tasks
- Sales orders are entered into the system with the guidance of more experienced Planners.
- Receives direction to determine the sources of the components (to make or buy) under the current Houston operation sourcing strategy and enters the system to notify purchasing of project requests.
- Submits and releases milestone sales orders as directed by the Project Manager or Field Service Manager.
- Maintains sales order due dates based on operational requirements.
- Assists the project team in synchronizing project priorities and engineering design release dates to guarantee acceptable procurement and production timelines.
- Monitors the movement of inventories via allocated tasks.
- Avoids the formation of surplus inventory and, if possible, recommends substitutes to use and reduce existing inventory.
- Conducts and documents an inventory impact review at project completion.
- Troubleshoots purchase order issues and supports resolution.
- Assists as needed in locating missing components or making part swaps.
- Applicants must be Guyanese nationals.
- Field service or technical experience in drilling, completion, or intervention is preferred.
- Typically requires <2 years of experience with materials planning, scheduling, and SAP systems.
- Interacts with suppliers and coworkers using good organizational skills, planning skills, negotiation skills, and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to manage many tasks in a high-volume environment.
- PC abilities with complete knowledge of the MS Office Suite and SAP.
- Excellent written and vocal communication skills in English.
- Ability to fulfill deadlines and prioritize tasks.
- Capable of working in a team atmosphere.
- Effective comprehension and communication in varied cultural settings.
- Demonstrate proven leadership skills in communication, creating requirements, and identifying areas for development.
- Show dedication to key ideals and lead by example.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Office setting with frequent travels to the shop and various offices throughout the facility. Some exposure to potential shop risks such as loud noise, heavy machinery, and shop traffic. Fast-paced environment with repetitive transactions. Multiple priorities and ongoing change.
Physical demands include frequent walking and standing in the shop during the closing stages of a project. Frequently sitting and operating a PC.
