The Role

We are searching for a Business Director to join our West African operations. This is not a junior coordination role. You will act as a key member of our leadership team, championing and coordinating workstreams across multiple markets. You will work closely with a team of talented integrated communications professionals. Your goal will be to foster a collaborative and growth oriented environment where everyone thrives.

Specifically, you must be able to manage large scale projects that span borders. You will work with multiple internal and vendor stakeholders locally, regionally, and globally. Furthermore, you will engage with clients at senior levels, building trust and driving results. You will collaborate with cross functional teams daily. Ultimately, you will lead the clients assigned to you from both a brand and commercial perspective. Your mission is to identify opportunities to grow revenue, enhance reputation, and deepen client relationships.

Your Core Responsibilities

This role is multifaceted. You will wear many hats, from creative champion to commercial strategist. Here is what your day to day responsibilities will look like:

Client Partnership and Growth: You will act as the primary client partner for growth. Consequently, you will leverage support from our multidisciplinary agency team and the vast Publicis global network. Your job is to provide carefully considered, quick to market solutions based on the agreed annual scope of work.
Driving Breakthrough Creativity: You understand what makes great work. Therefore, you will work with clients and agency teams to drive breakthrough communications. You will lead and motivate agency teams to meet and exceed those high expectations. You will guide, challenge, and inspire creative, production, digital, influencer, and planning teams to produce outstanding holistic solutions.
Operational Excellence: You will lead the client agency collaboration during the briefing process. You will ensure clear stakeholder alignment on budget and timelines. Additionally, you will manage the agency fee structure with a clear intent to mine for revenue uplift opportunities. You will also participate in quarterly business reviews and own the mutually agreed KPIs.
Stakeholder Management: You will manage all stakeholders effectively. This includes scheduling and championing internal agency reviews before client presentations. You will present during weekly status meetings with clients. Furthermore, you will ensure the agency draws on global brand teams in Publicis Paris through scheduled check ins. You will also manage key milestones like business reviews, market visits, and competitor analyses.
Commercial Acumen: You will drive the commercial aspects of assigned accounts. This means ensuring responsible and timely cost estimation from start to final invoicing. You will work effectively with the finance team on vendor related commercials.
