POSITION: Area Sales Manager
Role Summary
Olam’s division is seeking an energetic self-starter to drive the sales initiatives in the area. You need a keen eye for detail, the capability to establish and push ambitious sales objectives, and a solid skill in fostering performance-driven cultures in your team.
The role entails establishing goals to attain the region’s top and bottom-line outcomes according to the business plan while adhering to the specified budget. You will organize and implement the distribution and coverage goals established for the year while building and maintaining a high-performance-focused team. The individual would also be responsible for strategizing and implementing sales promotion and market development efforts while ensuring that all new product introductions and sales distribution goals are achieved.
Essential Outputs
Strategic Efficiency
- Robust planning abilities, developing the regional sales strategy according to the organizational distribution segment plan.
- Establishing and leading the quarterly sales and revenue goals, making sure regional sales targets are met.
- A close watch on performance, overseeing ground activities according to plans and goals, and implementing corrective measures in case of discrepancies.
Operational Efficiency
- Become the focal point of the action, oversee and direct sales and distribution efforts within the area.
- You would possess robust market connections, and detect and document competitor actions in the area. Devise the essential strategies to address them and safeguard your market position.
- Establish solid connections with the distribution network, coordinate on-site needs, and assist distributors.
Organizational Efficiency
- Become the person who connects with others, acting as the central source of inspiration and support for the varied and frequently extensive local teams throughout the country or region.
- Organize and implement product training, enhance team development initiatives, and foster a strong performance culture among team members.
Requirements
- A talent for selling. You should find numbers to be instinctive.
- Strong understanding of the area along with its geography and population statistics.
- MBA with 3 to 5 years of industry experience after qualification.
- Previous experience in sales and distribution is necessary.
- Fluency in French is an additional skill we seek.
