Ecobank Transnational Incorporated is recruiting a skilled Incident Response Analyst to join our cybersecurity team. This role is designed for a professional tasked with responding to critical security events, including data loss, ransomware attacks, and internal threats. You will utilize advanced analytical skills to protect the organization’s digital assets and ensure the reliability of our mission critical services.

Job Context and Key Responsibilities

As an Incident Responder, you will protect and enhance our security posture by managing recovery activities from cybersecurity events. You will assess threat severity, conduct thorough investigations, and work decisively to contain, eradicate, and recover from security incidents.

Serve as a level 3 investigator and functional expert, conducting advanced analysis to detect and remove malicious presence from networks, applications, databases, and cloud resources
Monitor and respond to security events using established processes, while also developing new procedures where needed.
Coordinate incident response efforts, ensuring all necessary internal teams such as network operations and service desk are involved for a unified response.
Take immediate containment actions to mitigate incidents, develop response plans, and collaborate with technical teams to eradicate root causes.
Monitor security feeds and SIEM alerts, taking appropriate action based on company security policy.
Conduct forensic investigations to gather evidence, identify impact, and support potential regulatory requirements.
Develop security plans, policies, and training materials to prepare the Ecobank group for efficient incident response.
Establish communication protocols for incidents and prepare comprehensive reports for management and stakeholders.
Perform root cause analysis to identify security gaps and work with engineers to implement fixes.
Collaborate with the SOC to define use cases, build asset inventories, and support forensic needs for Corporate Investigations.

Job Profile: Experience and Qualifications

Candidates should possess five to seven years of professional experience in Incident Response, Security Operations, Software Development, or Systems Administration.
A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline is highly desired.
Advanced knowledge in cybersecurity concepts, malware forensics, threat analysis, penetration testing, and operating systems (Windows, UNIX).
Ability to analyze and correlate data to distinguish attack evidence from normal network activity.
Proficiency in using security technologies like SIEM, IDS/IPS, EDR, and network analysis tools.
Relevant certifications such as GIAC Certified Incident Handler (GCIH), CISSP, CySA+, or CEH are a strong advantage.
Skill in compiling and presenting malware intelligence to business leaders and stakeholders.
