Job Title: TECHNICAL OFFICER
JOB PURPOSE
The person who gets the job will be in charge of making new products and finding business segments with a lot of potentials. He or she will come up with ways to improve the quality of crops.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Management of the Organization’s and other English-speaking West African countries’ technical and development strategy, budget, and statistics (Nigeria, Liberia, Sierra Leone).
- Create and manage custom solutions and adapting global product portfolio for crop protection products, fertilizers, vector control and domestic pest’s control products, and vegetable seeds and traits portfolio.
- Keep an eye on what the local regulators are doing in the Organization.
- Represents the company in front of local external stakeholders like regulatory authorities.
- Handle the registration of local products on time for each segment.
- Take care of the company’s products.
- Plan and carry out training for all stakeholders on all tropical crops.
- Manage and write up all testing protocols for the Organization’s products in line with the national research institutes in English-speaking West Africa.
- Watch how research institutes, commercial farmers, and smallholder farmers carry out trial programs.
Skills or Experience Needed
EDUCATION
- Agricultural engineer with a bachelor’s degree.
- At least 3 years of experience in the field of agronomy.
- Good background in the field of agrochemicals.
- Having experience with project management will be a plus.
- Excellent skills with math and statistics.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Effective ways to talk to people.
- Accuracy and careful thought.
- Excellent skills at organizing, doing more than one thing at once, and managing time.
- Problem solving skills.
- Being in a workplace with people from different backgrounds
- Must be ready to go places.
- They can speak and write English and French well.
