POSITION: Planning Lead

Nestlé Ghana Limited is seeking a Planning Lead to join our team in Tema. If you possess strong leadership capabilities, advanced Excel proficiency, and a track record of driving planning excellence, this role offers the opportunity to manage production and material planning for the world’s largest food and beverage company.

Your Mission

You will manage the production and material planning team, ensuring effective application of best practices and efficient processes. Your focus will remain on material availability, production schedules, and cost minimization. You will align with business priorities, communicate constraints, and drive performance to agreed KPI levels. Additionally, you will participate in innovation and renovation projects, managing phase in and phase out activities to minimize write offs.

Key Responsibilities

Your role spans team leadership, planning execution, stakeholder communication, and supplier management. Here is what you will tackle:

Team Leadership & Development

  • You will manage and maintain a skilled, motivated team of production and material planners, continuously improving the quality of production schedules and material requirement plans.
  • Developing robust succession plans for the Planning Team ensures business continuity and prepares future leaders.

Planning & Performance

  • Ensuring continuous alignment with business priorities, initiatives, and activities while delivering performance to agreed KPI levels keeps operations focused on what matters most.
  • Communicating material constraints to all stakeholders and supporting timely resolution of identified potential risks prevents supply disruptions.

Innovation & Project Support

  • Participating in Innovation and Renovation projects and new product launches such as promotions, recipe changes, and packaging changes requires careful coordination.
  • Managing phase in and phase out of all materials effectively minimizes write offs and protects profitability.

Operational Excellence

  • Leading the Material and Production Planning team in effective application of best practices ensures material availability meets customer demand while optimizing production capacity usage.
  • Supervising and coordinating sign off on yearly stock targets per material for raw and packaging materials keeps inventory levels within min and max parameters.

Supplier & Financial Management

  • Managing supplier performance and indicating areas for improvement strengthens our supply chain.
  • Ensuring timely processing of supplier payments prevents supply disruption and maintains strong vendor relationships.

What You Bring to the Role

We are looking for a candidate with the right education, experience, and personal attributes. Here is what you need:

Education & Experience

  • A minimum of a First Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Food Process Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or a related field.
  • Two to three years of experience in a similar role.
  • Working experience in Production Planning, Material Planning, Supply Planning, or Demand Planning gives you a distinct advantage.
