POSITION: Assistant Loss Prevention Manager
JOB SUMMARY
Aids in overseeing the daily operations of the department to guarantee the safety of property assets, staff, visitors, and the premises. Keeps records, certifications, and documents mandated by regulations and Standard Operating Procedures. Aids in training personnel on established emergency protocols and enforces procedures for accident and fire prevention. The role emphasizes maintaining satisfaction for both guests and employees while meeting the operational budget.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Education and Experience
- Completion of high school or GED; 3 years of experience in security, loss prevention, or a similar professional field.
- Associate degree from a recognized university in Criminal Justice or a related field; 1 year of experience in the security/loss prevention or a similar professional area.
MAIN JOB FUNCTIONS
Overseeing Security/Loss Prevention Activities
- Aids the Director of Engineering in managing fire prevention initiatives and emergency readiness.
- Aids in performing hazard and risk evaluations at the site, which involves quarterly OSHA/SAFETY inspections, incident monitoring, and the hazard reduction procedure.
- Aids in creating comprehensive “shut down” protocols for the property to guarantee that all sections are secured at the correct times.
- Adheres to relevant federal, state, and local laws and safety standards.
- Adheres to appropriate key management protocols to prevent losses and secure the property.
- Creates a monthly checklist for all CCTV systems, alarmed entrances, and panic alarms to verify their full functionality.
- Includes patrols, covering all sections of the property’s inside and outside, a tour to inspect the recording system.
- Adheres to the Duty of Care protocol to safeguard guests and staff.
- Monitors all unusual activities in and around the property that could jeopardize the safety of guests and staff.
- Manages complaints, addresses disputes, and works through grievances and conflicts, or negotiates with others.
- Executes strategies to oversee and manage risk.
- Observes any suspicious actions occurring in and around the premises that could jeopardize the safety of guests and staff.
- Manages all loss prevention activities, including but not limited to patrolling, emergency response, investigations (both initial and follow-up) for incidents involving guests and employees, the shipping and receiving process (provides suggestions for enhancement), the electronic key system, and the responsibilities of the on-duty manager.
- Supervises and directs the activities of the Accident Prevention Committee.
- Manages first aid program for visitors and staff.
- Manages the claims procedure and safeguards company resources by attentively tracking General Liability and Workers’ Compensation cases.

- Consistently achieve quality benchmarks and fulfill customer demands.
- Recognizes the educational requirements of others, creating formal educational or training courses or sessions, and providing teaching or instruction to others.
- Evaluates and assesses the operations of the loss prevention team to ensure and uphold an elevated standard of professionalism and customer service.
- Delivers services that exceed expectations for customer satisfaction and loyalty.
Extra Duties
- Assesses data and reviews outcomes to select the optimal solution and address issues.
- Establishes connections with local law enforcement and emergency services.
- Communicates and/or relays pertinent information to the executives, peers, and subordinates promptly.
- Delivers information to managers and colleagues via phone, in writing, email, or face-to-face.
