POSITION: Storekeeper (Engineering) 

Overview 

Engineering Storekeepers are tasked with receiving, storing, and issuing supplies and equipment, maintaining records of supply transactions, and ensuring that received supplies match the requisitions and invoices.

Main Duties

  • Accurately document deliveries and departmental concerns in the stock ledgers, ensuring a daily balance that meets the required standard.
  • Compare received items with supplier delivery notes.
  • Obtain products from vendors.
  • Make sure that all items are promptly sent to the designated store and that no items remain unsecured or unattended in the receiving area.
  • Organize purchase requests to be forwarded to the purchasing department for “below minimum” items promptly to guarantee sufficient lead time for ordering.
  • Allocate items to the Engineering Department staff based on inventory requests.
  • To manage the cleaning and sanitation timetable for all primary store areas.
  • Tasked with examining and documenting all items released after regular hours.
  • Tasked with making sure that all storerooms remain locked, monitored, orderly, and tidy at all times.
  • Tasked with carrying out any extra responsibilities designated by Management and supporting other sectors of Purchasing as required.
  • Tasked with informing the supervisor about any discrepancies or other possible issues.

Skills, Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree/HND in Engineering or a related discipline
  • 1-3 years of experience as an Engineering Storekeeper, ideally in high-end 5-star hotels.
  • Extra language – advantageous
  • Capable of managing large quantities while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Outstanding written and spoken communication abilities
  • A skill to create and maintain positive working relationships with hotel personnel and clients/suppliers.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities
  • Maintains a professional, confidential, and ethical attitude consistently.
  • Operates in a secure, careful, and methodical way.
  • Capability to use computer and mechanical machinery.
  • Expertise in Excel and Word
  • Familiarity with relevant computer software is an advantage.
  • Understanding of materials management, quality assurance, and regional laws.
